The San Francisco International Guitar Competition and Residency Program
About
the SFIGC
The San Francisco International Guitar Competition and Residency Program
is an annual event with the belief that a strong career in music must include
community outreach, education and communication skills as well as superior
musical abilities. The Competition will alternate, on an annual basis, with
the Residency. The first Residency will take place during the 2003-2004 season
and features the First Prize winner of the 2002 Competition. This individual
will act as an artistic ambassador during the two week Residency which includes
professional guidance in musical outreach skills and the opportunity to perform
in regional concerts and community events in the San Francisco Bay Area.
