Important Announcement

The Board of Directors of the Omni Foundation for the Performing Arts has determined that participation in this year's competition will be by invitation only. You will find a summary of the competition following this announcement. The Board and Staff of the Omni Foundation wish to thank all those who have expressed an interest in participating in the competition. If you feel you qualify based on point number 2 in the following summary please notify us.

Requirements

1. 4 of the world's leading emerging guitarists will be invited to compete in San Francisco.
2. Each player must have won 1st place in an international guitar competition.
3. The competition will take place on November 19th and 20th, 2004.
4. Each player will perform a program of 30 minutes duration on both nights.
5. No piece may be repeated.
6. There will be two required pieces from Dusan Bogdanovic's Unkown Standards (TBA) which must be included in one of the performances.
   

Judging will be cumulative from the two performances.

1st Prize $10,000
This prize will include a two week Artistic Residency in San Francisco and a recording with GSP Records. It will be paid in the following manner. $4000 upon winning and $3000 per week during the residency. Room and board will be provided during the residency by the Omni Foundation.

2nd Prize	$	2,500

4th Prize	$	1,000

Performers will receive ground transportation while in San Francisco, hotel accommodations and a per diem to cover meals.
